When & where will the Science Fair be held? The fair is held at Beverly Hills High School
on these dates: - Grade 6-12: Wed, Nov 8, 2017 - Grade K-5: Sat, Apr7, 2018
(Wed 11/8: High Schoolers 4-5pm, Middle Schoolers 5-6pm) Participants are required to attend this period in which the judges will interact with the students and assess their projects. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Parents are not allowed inside the EDC during this period so participants can simply be dropped off. There will be many chaperones to look after the students.
Public Open House
(Wed 11/8, 6-7pm) – The public is invited to see all projects in the EDC Conf Room and enjoy interactive science demonstrations by Z-Space VR, Robotics teams, STAR, Mathnasium and more. Food is available for purchase. Students are encouraged to be by their projects to answer questions from the public during the open house. Please RSVP Here.
Awards & Robotics Show
– All participants and family / friends are requested to join this event in the Salter Theater (across the street from the EDC), which will kick off with an exciting robotics demo. This will be followed by the awarding of medals and trophies to participants. Salter Theater is tucked between Heath Ave & Moreno Dr on the ground level.
Are there prizes? - High schoolers can win college scholarship money - Middle schoolers can win an Apple Watch - There'll be many other awards given for participants
What is the Beverly Hills Science Fair? It is a celebration of science learning where students develop a scientific question, run experiments to try to answer the question, create a board that summarizes their work, and brag about their scientific awesomeness.
Who can participate? ANY student from the Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD). This includes TK-12th grade students from Horace Mann, Beverly Vista, El Rodeo, Hawthorne and Beverly Hills High School. Individual students or teams of up to three students can participate.
What projects qualify for the science fair? Any project related to Behavioral Science, Biology,
Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, Electronics,
Medicine & Health,
